Are your cattle raised in a feed lot?

Never. Our cattle spend their entire lives out out on pasture. Here in Eastern Oregon it can get a bit snowy so during the winter months, they eat hay that we put up from our own ranch.

How do you finish your cattle?

We offer 100% grass fed & finished beef as well as non GMO barley finished beef.

What's The Difference? Grass-finished and non-GMO barley-finished beef each offer unique flavor profiles and benefits.

Our grass-finished cattle spend their entire lives on pasture, enjoying lush green grass during the spring, summer, and fall, and grass hay that we harvest ourselves and feed during the winter months. Grass-finished beef, raised on a diet of natural grasses for its entire life, tends to have a robust, earthy flavor with a leaner texture. This type of beef is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.

Similarly, our non-GMO barley-finished cattle also spend their entire lives grazing on lush pastures throughout the spring, summer, and fall, and are fed our own grass hay during winter. The key difference is that 30 days before processing, we move the designated barley-finished cattle to their own pasture, where they receive an additional 5 lbs of barley per day until they go to the butcher. This supplementary barley feed enhances the flavor and marbling of the meat, resulting in a juicier and more tender cut of meat.

Are your cattle free from hormones and antibiotics?

Yes. We believe in raising our beef with as little outside influence as possible. We do this by using no added hormones or unnecessary antibiotics.

Are there any additives in your beef?

No. Our beef is 100% natural, unlike store-bought beef which can have additives to keep meat red in appearance etc.

Do you dry age?

Yes. Our USDA butcher will dry age your beef to maximize tenderness and flavor.

1/4 Beef Share: This bundle will require approx. 3.5 - 4 cubic ft. of freezer space.
